Prof Sunday Olakunle Oyegoke is Provost of the College of Engineering. An experienced and tested Civil Engineer, he has more than 40 years of research and teaching experience with consulting services in local, national and international establishments to his credit.
Specialising in Hydraulics, Coastal and Water Resources Engineering, his major contributions are in the application of his expertise to finding solutions to local, national and international problems in his field of specialisation. He has made impactful contributions to extreme rainfall analysis vis a vis the proper sizing of urban drainage works as well as the optimum sizing of reservoirs of multi-purpose dams
In Hydraulic and Costal Engineering, he has conducted hydrographic surveys and investigations spanning the entire national coastal region beginning from Badagry to the west up to Bakasi to the East. He has also undertaken hydraulic physical modelling for design of coastal protection works.
His more recent research investigations in the area of Water Resources Engineering related to the optimum exploitation of ground water sited in weathered and facture basement complex rocks.
Prof Oyegoke joined the services of Afe Babalola University in 2013 after more than 25 years of teaching and research experience at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos
He obtained the B.Sc (Hons) in Civil Engineering at the University of Lagos in 1973 before undertaking post graduate studies at the International Institute of Hydraulic Engineering at Delft, the Netherlands.
Part of the research work for his award of the Ph.D of the University of Lagos in 1982 was conducted at Cornell University Ithaca USA . Professor Oyegoke has several scholarly publications to his credit
